Narrated History Cruise “Women On The Canal”
Women on the Erie Canal were vital workers on the boats, crucial participants in the burgeoning economy (factories along the canal), and key figures in social reform, especially the women’s suffrage movement, using the waterway for organizing, travel, and spreading ideas.
To recognize the contributions of women on the success of the historic Erie Canal, the New York Power Authority and New York State Canal Corporation through the On The Canals program are proud to offer narrated history cruises on these contributions FREE of charge.
Our narrator, Val Cronin, is a lifelong resident of the Tonawanda’s, a Distinguished Toastmaster and a Certified Tourism Ambassador. Val’s buoyant mixture of facts and storytelling makes for a fun history cruise!!
In order to provide an opportunity for the most people, there will be a limit of 2 free tickets per person. Duplicate reservations will be cancelled.
IMPORTANT: NO ALCOHOL BEVERAGES ARE PERMITTED ON THE FREE HISTORY CRUISES
